AI Import Preview (Experimental)
Let the AI import preview infer participant fields from a messy CSV, then confirm the rows.
The AI Import Preview button helps when the CSV you have is missing a clean header row: it reads the raw file and proposes a participant table along with a field mapping, including which columns are competitions.
Experimental, not the default path
The AI path is a preview feature: it may mis-read a row, and you cannot rely on it for a full clean file. The reliable way to import is the CSV path (Import from CSV). For a real event, either clean up the CSV first or use the CSV import with the standard header.
Steps
- In Participant Management, choose your CSV file, then click the AI Import Preview button.
- The app shows an Analyzing… state; on a large file this can take a minute.
- Review the parsed table. You can edit individual rows, refresh the preview, or see which columns it thinks are competition columns. Rows that could not be parsed are flagged with First/last name required.
- Click Confirm AI import to write the rows to the event.
What it is good at, and what it is not
- Is good at: picking up name and partner columns in rows that are not formatted perfectly, and guessing which columns are competition names.
- Is not good at: guaranteeing every row is right. Read the table before you confirm, and fix anything that looks off.
