Getting started

Quick Start

The short path from a ready event to a competition ready to be judged.

The shortest complete path to a competition you can actually run. Your event is already created for you by the account administrator; you start from inside it.

On the Event page, scroll to Competitions and click Create Competition. Fill in the name, the division (LOWER, HIGHER, or MIXED), who is judged (Individual or Couple), and the stage (Prelim or Final). Click Create Competition again to save it.

In Participant Management, click Create Participant and add each dancer's first and last name. If you have a list, use Import CSV instead; see Add participants.

Open the competition you just created. In Prelim Configuration, set the Number of Judges and give each a name. Each judge will get a personal token and QR code in the scoresheet PDF.

Still in Prelim Configuration, choose the Scoring System (Regular, Ranked maybes, or Weighted points; see Configure preliminary scoring) and optionally pick a Head Judge. Then click Save.

Click Download Scoresheets PDF. Every judge gets a personal QR code that opens their scoring page.

What happens on event day

  1. Each judge scans their QR code (or types their token) and lands on the scoring page.
  2. Judges vote participant by participant, then review and submit their scores. That locks the judge's own scores; it is not the same as publishing the competition results.
  3. You watch the submissions come in on the competition page.
  4. When every judge has submitted, run the ranking and Publish the results. They appear on the public page. See Publish results.
